BMC is a cycling club centered in and around the Bentonville/Rogers area but we have club members stretching from North Carolina to Utah. Our members tend to be competitive, enjoy riding most of the year, and often race (or support racing). Our racers include an elite racing team that competes in pro/am events throughout the midwest as well as weekend warriors that will compete anywhere from 1 to 40 races per year in formats such as road, mountainbike and cyclocross races.

While racing is part of our identity, our group rides are the life blood of the club (

BMC is a cycling club rich in history. The club is comprised of riders of all levels ranging from casual weekend warriors to elite racers that compete at the national level most weekends of the year. We ride road bikes, mountain bikes, tandems, and I think there’s even a unicycle to be found in a garage or two. The club is sponsored by Wal-Mart and the Bentonville Casting Company, but you do not have to work for either company to be a part of the club.

Club members regularly meet for group rides in various locations (see Calendar). The scheduled rides tend to be road rides since that is the most accessible form of cycling on a regular basis but some of us also meet and ride at local mountain bike trails like Slaughter Pen and Hobbs State Park.

Our club also organizes and promotes several cycling events throughout the year. For nearly a decade we’ve promoted a race in honor of a former member called the “Bob Herbert Memorial”. The race has evolved over time from a road race to a stage race and now to a time trial. (For those of you who don’t know, Bob was a world class athlete in cycling as well as paddling.) In 2009 we will also be promoting a century ride in Bentonville and a mountain bike race at Hobbs State Park. Look for details coming soon!
